U.S.-India Joint Research Training Program

Research Training in Global Infectious Diseases

The Global Infectious Diseases Training Grant on Research on Intracellular Pathogens is aimed at enhancing research and training on intracellular pathogens and the diseases they cause, with an emphasis on Malaria, leishmaniasis, and Tuberculosis through advanced training opportunities for Ph.D. students and postdoctoral scientists, specialized workshops, and video lectures.  To read about our most recent workshop, conducted in January 2008 in Hyderabad, click here.

This project is led by Dr. Kenneth Stuart (Seattle Biomedical Research Institute - SBRI), joined by co-directors Dr. Rentala Madhubala (Jawaharlal Nehru University - JNU) and Dr. Marilyn Parsons (SBRI).

4th Research Training on Intracellular Pathogens Workshop (updated 10/14/09)

The Advisory Committee invites applications from promising Indian Ph.D. students, postdoctoral scientists and junior Faculty for attendance at the 4th Workshop of the Seattle-India Joint Research Training Program "Research Training on Intracellular Pathogens" to take place at the International Centre in Goa, India, February 2-7, 2010.  The workshop will entail five days of activities including bioinformatics training, grant-writing exercises, round table discussions on research ethics and lectures on current research by GID consortium faculty from Seattle and Delhi. Students and postdoctoral scientists will also present their recent findings in poster sessions.

Accepted applicants, please see the workshop page for further information.
