U.S.-India Joint Research Training Program

Research Training in Global Infectious Diseases

The Global Infectious Diseases Training Grant on Research on Intracellular Pathogens is aimed at enhancing research and training on intracellular pathogens and the diseases they cause, with an emphasis on Malaria, leishmaniasis, and Tuberculosis through advanced training opportunities for Ph.D. students and postdoctoral scientists, specialized workshops, and video lectures.  To read about our most recent workshop, conducted in January 2008 in Hyderabad, click here.  To read about our trainees, please visit our current fellowships page.

This project is led by Dr. Kenneth Stuart (Seattle Biomedical Research Institute), joined by co-directors Dr. Rentala Madhubala (Jawaharlal Nehru University - JNU) and Dr. Marilyn Parsons (Seattle BioMed).

New trainees and faculty added to the program! (updated 6/2/10)

Drs. Christoph Grunder (Seattle BioMed) and Deepak Gaur (ICGEB) have joined our project faculty and will be available as mentors for collaborative projects.  For information on their research programs please see our faculty page.

Three new trainees (one graduate student and two postdocs) have also been accepted into the program!  For more information on the projects they will work on please see our trainees page!
